Harvesting rainwater, solar energy workshop
The Cibolo Nature Center will host a Harvesting Rainwater and Solar Energy workshop Saturday, May 17, from 9 a.m. until noon at the center located at 140 City Park Road in Boerne.
John Kight, an engineer and owner of home rainwater-catchment and solar-energy systems, will offer the latest technological information and practical advice for using water- and energy-saving technology. Kight’s rainwater-catchment system supplies all the water for his family’s household and landscape needs. His grid-connected solar energy panel is also tied to a battery backup and powers all of his appliances except air conditioning.
Participants will hear a presentation and then carpool to Kight’s home to see his systems in action. Register online at Cibolo.org/calendar. Cost is $35, $25 for Cibolo Nature Center members.
For more information, contact Cindy Glass at 830-249-4616, email firstname.lastname@example.org, or visit www.cibolo.org/calendar.
