Artistic ability helped Maura Jones and Reagan Roswell garner the top two positions in the 57th annual La Vernia Junior Livestock & Poultry Show’s Arts and Crafts Contest held Feb. 28 in La Vernia.

Maura earned grand champion honors in the woodwork category. Reagan’s painting/drawing entry was named the reserve grand champion.

Other winners in the contest included:

•Baskets, wreaths, holiday -- Tristan Summy, first; K.J. Crisp, second; and Micayla Pearson, third

•Catch-all -- Kourtney Leija, first; Madison Summy, second; and K.J. Crisp, third

•Metalwork, welding -- Aryanna Smith, first; and Daniel Allen, second

•Photography -- Jaelyn Kotzur, first; Zach Hubert, second; and Kyla Barron, third
