#48 Jimmie Johnson holds 15 wins at 1.5-mile tracks! Current and six time NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion Jimmie Johnson is wins above the rest of the pack. Johnson is a solid driver at any track, but he can boast his 15 wins at 1.5 mile tracks. Coming to Kansas, which just happens to be a 1.5 mile track, there is hope for Jimmie who has gone without a win this season coming up short week after week and with two-thirds of the season left, he needs a win.

Kansas is Jimmie’s friend. He has had two Cup wins in there, 15 Cup starts, six top-five finishes and 13 top -10 finishes. He has started from the pole position three times at the Kansas Speedway and has led 562 laps at the this track. Jimmie also holds the highest driver rating at Kansas with 118.9 out of 150 maximum points per race.

Do statistics take the pressure off Jimmie? I doubt it. A race day is a major work day, there’s no kicking back hoping that statistics you will give you the win. Jimmie hasn’t won in Kansas since 2011. Just maybe, this could be his first win of the season and his third win at Kansas Speedway.
