Offer condolences


Carl J. Tondre, 58, of Stockdale, Texas, passed away Friday, May 9, 2014, in Floresville. Carl was born Nov. 11, 1955, in San Antonio, the youngest of four children born to Ellyn Steinle and Claude J. Tondre Sr.

In 1974 he graduated from Medina Valley High School in Castroville. In 2009 he retired from the University of Texas Health Science Center as a journeyman electrician. Currently he had been working for Wilson County Precinct No. 4 as a county representative. Carl was an avid Harley rider. He enjoyed the outdoors and working on his ranch. On June 15, 2007, he married Susan Marie Kuehm Koch.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Carl is survived by his loving wife, Susan Tondre of Stockdale; children Denise Tondre and husband James Bradley of Dallas, Melissa Audilet and husband Scott of Stockdale, Codie Tondre of North Carolina, Scott Sigman and wife Laurie of Dallas, and Robert Sigman and wife Anna of Boerne; grandchildren Allison and Ashley Bradley, Maddison, Makayla, and Kyle Audilet, Michael, Katie, Cash, and Lauren Sigman, and Sam and Meri-Kate Edmundson; brothers and sister-in-law Claude Tondre Jr. of San Antonio, and Curtis and Dale Tondre of Rio Medina; sister Elaine LeGrand of Houston; and in-laws Mary Ann and Ron Miller and Betty and Jim Shockley.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 14, from 12-1 p.m. in the Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home in Castroville.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home.

Interment will follow in the St. Louis Catholic Cemetery in Castroville.

Memorial contributions may be made in Carl’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
