Lambert F. Pawelek, born Aug. 1, 1927, to Alois and Emelia (Skloss) Pawelek, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at the age of 86. Lambert was born in Falls City, Texas, and lived most of his adult life in San Antonio.

He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers Claud, Edmond and wife Florence, Alois Jr., and Fabian.

Lambert is survived by his wife, Maxine Pawelek; children Cathleen Vackar and Gail Emily Webster; stepdaughter Glenda Verkerk and husband Dyke; grandchildren Brent, Nathan, Emily, Stephen, and Rachel; stepgrandchildren Lindsey and Landon; sister Elsie and husband Chris; sisters-in-law Betty, Dorothy, and Zelma; brothers Archie and wife Gladys, Chester and wife Elaine, Ben and wife Marie, and Webb and wife Dorothy.

Visitation was held Sunday, May 4, from 6-9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. in the Mission Park Funeral Chapels South in San Antonio.

Services were held Monday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel.

Interment followed in the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
