Max Henry Calhoun Sr. passed away Monday, May 12, 2014, in Floresville, Texas, at the age of 83 years, 9 months, and 8 days.

He was born Aug. 4, 1930, in San Antonio to Robert O. and Dorothy Emesley Calhoun. He was a Floresville resident for 50 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Vivian Calhoun; brothers Arthur Calhoun and Robert Calhoun; and his stepfather, John Goll.

Max is survived by his children, Dorothy Murphy and mate Nicky Farris of Floresville, Karen Daniels of Kingsbury, Max H. Calhoun Jr. and mate Mechele Lashby of Floresville, John Steele and wife Pauline of Seguin, and Kenneth Steele and wife Mary of Poteet; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and a host of friends.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 24, at the Calhoun home place. Call 830-534-6910 for more information.
