Alfred Edward “Bobby” Tom Jr. was added to the stars in heaven on Monday, May 5, 2014. He was born to Elenora and Alfred Edward “Bob” Tom Sr. on Dec. 8, 1946, in Poteet, Texas.

Bobby followed in the footsteps of his father and served in the military. He attended Texas A&M University-Kingsville and returned home to live on the old Tom Ranch. He retired with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Bobby liked to make people happy and laugh by telling jokes and stories. He was a true Texas gentleman in every sense of the word. Bobby and his wife, Evelyn Fergusson Tom, had been sweethearts since 1986.

Bobby is survived by his wife, Evelyn Fergusson Tom from Barranquilla, Colombia, South America; two maternal aunts, Lolly Lange and Georgia Mae Ullmann; and many cousins.
