Floresville triathlon team to compete


Floresville triathlon team to compete
Members of the Floresville High School Triathlon Team prepare for competition at the Palo Alto Swim Center in San Antonio. The team will travel to Austin to compete in a triathlon on Monday, May 26, to celebrate Memorial Day. When the Capital of Texas Triathlon takes place in Austin on Monday, May 26 -- Memorial Day -- a team of seven student athletes from Floresville High School will be on hand to participate.

The Floresville High School Triathlon Team, sponsored by the Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC), will compete alongside more than 3,000 athletes, including a host of international competitors, Olympians, and professional athletes. The triathlon course will consist of a half-mile swim, a 12-mile bicycle ride, and a 3-mile run.

USA Triathlon is sponsoring the event. The Floresville athletes are excited for the opportunity to share the course with so many talented athletes and Olympians.
