Offer condolences


Freddie A. Rohde, 79, of Seguin, Texas, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2014. He was born on Oct. 8, 1934, in San Antonio to Hilmar and Frieda (Hilebrandt) Rohde.

He was a graduate of Sam Houston High School and a lineman for City Public Service for 37 years. Freddie was an avid hunter, who enjoyed the outdoors and kept his yard immaculate. He will be remembered as a man devoted to his Catholic faith and his loving family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Marvin Rohde; sisters Elizabeth and Emma Rohde; and great-granddaughters Abby and Bella Lester.

Freddie is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Sally Rohde; sons Ronnie Rohde and wife Mary, David Rohde and wife Cindy, Robert Rohde and wife Joanne, Matthew Rohde and wife Liana, and Mark Rohde and wife Kristyn; brother Melvin Rohde; sisters Dorothy Wenzel, Maryann Ramel, and Shirley Hardcastle and husband Mark; 19 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 27, from 5-8 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. in the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in St. Hedwig.

A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the church.

Interment will follow in the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Cemetery in St. Hedwig.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011 or, or to the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Kitchen Fund, 14011 F.M. 1346, and P.O. Box 100, St. Hedwig, TX 78152.
