Chester W. Wiley, 84, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2014, in Stockdale, Texas. Chester was born May 16, 1930, to A.R. Bill and Eunice West Wiley in Floresville.

Chester was a member of the First Baptist Church of Stockdale, and was retired from working 33 years at Ashland Oil Inc. The family would like to thank the staff at Stockdale Residence and Rehabilitation Center and Guadalupe Regional Hospice Services for their excellent care and compassion.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant sister Faye Beth; sisters Inez Dixon Seiler and Lucille Lynn; grandson Matthew Hodges; and great-granddaughter Kenadee Elizabeth Cooper.

Chester is survived by his wife, Mary Nell Wiley; children Vicki Wiley Wehmeyer and husband David, Chuck Wiley and wife Carol, and Sherri Wiley Cooper and husband Jim; grandchildren Kristi Wehmeyer Talley and husband Toby, Whitney Wehmeyer, Kendall Wiley and wife Lindsey, Kourtnee Cooper Odom and husband Clay, and Kyle Cooper and wife Desiree; great-grandchildren Tinsley and Ace Talley, Maxwell Cooper Odom, and Blake Kenadee Cooper; sister Opal Schwarzkopf; brother A.R. Wiley Jr. and wife Lydia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Monday, May 26, at 9 a.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in Stockdale.

A funeral service was held at 10 a.m. in the funeral chapel, officiated by Pastor Janet Fluth.

Interment followed in the Stockdale Cemetery in Stockdale.

Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Stockdale, Christ United Methodist Church of Stockdale, or to a charity of one’s choice.
