The descendants of Pat and Evelyn Higgins invite the public to attend the dedication and unveiling of a Texas State Historical Marker for the Higgins Grass Farms on Saturday, June 7, at 9:30 a.m., located at the corner of F.M. 539 and East Third Street, one mile north of U.S. 87 in New Town Sutherland Springs.

A special invitation is extended to anyone who picked seed or worked other duties on the Grass Farms. Retired radio personality Bill McReynolds will serve as the guest speaker, and several of Pat Higgins Jr.’s farm implements will be on display, as well as photos and printed articles of farm activities. Be sure to take a lawn chair and wear a straw hat!

Plan to stay and visit after the ceremony and take your stories and old photographs to share. Light snacks and water will be available.
