SELMA -- The annual Flag Day 5k Race and 1k Kids’ Fun Run honoring our armed forces has been held at the Blue Bonnet Palace for 13 years. New this year is the partnership with the Boy Scouts of America, Alamo Area Council, and the Scout Strong initiative to promote a healthy, active lifestyle for the Scouts, families, and communities we serve. Together, they will host the Scout Strong Patriot Run on Saturday, June 14.

Check-in for the run will begin at 7 a.m., and the race will start at 8 a.m. An awards ceremony will follow at 9 a.m. All proceeds from the Scout Strong Patriot Run will benefit the programs of the Alamo Area Council. The event is open to competitive runners, as well as joggers, walkers, families, and teams.

The Blue Bonnet Palace is located at 17630 Lookout Road in Selma.

For more information, or to ask about special team pricing, call Johnny Purnell at 210-385-8248, email Johnny.Purnell@yahoo.com, or visit www.AlamoAreaBSA.org/ScoutStrongPatriotRun.
