Fifty-three students participated in the annual First-grade Spelling Bee at La Vernia Primary School. Children, with the help of their parents, had studied hard. After 12 rounds, Ashlynn Previtire was declared champion!

The administration thanks school board members Susan Reinhard and Janice Gimbel for judging the competition. Also, Margaret Wortham did a great job calling out the words. In addition, National Junior Honor Society members were amazing helpers.

Plus, we thank Eloise Wood, Guyna Polasek, Laurel Fisher, Stephanie Krueger, Jennifer Hendrickson, Nancy Bielefeldt, and Valerie Farris for assisting.
