This year’s La Vernia Primary School Spelling Bee had an unusual twist ... there were two winners! Second-grade students Cullen Haass and Preston Heinsohn fought hard, but after using up all the words, a tie was declared.

We are really proud of all of our students. We also know that our parents studied hard as well. It was a very engaging Bee!

Thank you to Principal Scott Cales and Vice Principal Helen Hubert from La Vernia Intermediate School for being our judges. Margaret Wortham was a wonderful announcer. In addition, we thank Valerie Farris, Nancy Bielefeldt, Lori Pruitt, Sharon Bunton, Eloise Wood, Guyna Polasek, Cindy Richter, Kim Cheverton, and Kerri Johnson for assisting.
