The Independent Cattlemen’s Association of Texas is proud to announce that it will award eight outstanding students with $500 scholarships at the 40th annual Convention and Trade Show to be held June 18-20 in Beaumont. Among the recipients of the ICA Steffany Lynn Sklar Memorial Scholarships is Coby Mills of La Vernia.

Coby, the son of Hubert and Carol Mills of La Vernia, is a member of the FFA chapter and 4-H Club. Coby has served in various leadership positions and participated in numerous contests. Due to his experience with 4-H and FFA, Coby has developed a passion for agriculture and his future plans are evident of that. Coby will be starting his degree in animal science this fall at Angelo State University in San Angelo.
