ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Compensation is at a rate of $200 per week plus $100 per completed and submitted crisis assessment, and mileage. If interested call Camino Real Community Services, 210-357-0359.

POTH -- Following some much-needed rain in the area, Outlaws Muddfest is excited to host “Thunder Jam 2014.” The event is scheduled for Saturday, June 14, with gates opening at 2 p.m.

The evening-long events include grudge-match racing, freestyle, Thunder Dome, a barrel race, and a tire-dragging competition. There will also be a fireworks show. The entry fee is $30 for those 21 and older, and $35 for those ages 11-20. Children 10 and under are free, but must be accompanied by adults 21 or older.

Free camping is allowed and encouraged, though no RV hookups are available. Showers are available, and there will be food, drinks, and merchandise for sale. Participants may take their own beverages, though no glass containers are allowed.

Muddfest will be held at the Bludau Farm, located at 848 C.R. 211.
