Students in Laura Villafranco’s business law class search for crimes and court cases every week in the Wilson County News. After reading the articles, the students discuss the rules of law to determine what consequences the suspect should receive if found guilty.

In business law, students are first introduced to ethics and the court system. They are also taught how to understand state and federal laws, the legal system, and many more areas of law. Students also participate in a mock trial in which they are responsible for completing all major steps in conducting a jury trial.
