1925-2014

Lauriano Cisneros Peña, 88, of Nixon, Texas, died Tuesday, June 10, 2014. He was born Nov. 22, 1925, in San Marcos to Manuel and Natividad (Cisneros) Peña.

Lauriano was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Santos C. Peña and Isaias C. Peña; a sister, Pilar Peña Rodriguez; and a son, Rudy Peña.

He is survived by his wife, Estella (Davila) Peña; his children, Rodolpho Peña, Larry Peña, Sue Peña Graine and husband Michael, George Peña, Diana Peña, Linda Peña, Mary Esther Peña Cortez and husband Michael, and Gloria Peña Garcia and husband Antonio; sister Beatrice Peña Estraca Altos; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and other loving family.

Visitation was held on Monday, June 16, from 4-8 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Raul Ramirez officiating.

Interment followed in the Nixon Latin American Cemetery in Nixon.

Serving as pallbearers were Michael Cortez, Eloy Peña, Antonio Garcia, Antonio Garcia II, Rudy Davila, and Joe Vargas.

Serving as honorary pallbearer was Larry Peña.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
