Adeline Lenz Pierdolla is the 2014 recipient of the Brahan Lodge’s Community Builder Award. This announcement was made during the May 27 special called communication of Brahan Lodge No. 226 AF & AM.

As part of the explanation to the members and visitors during the presentation of the award, Brother Bob Ierien, Past Master and current secretary of the lodge, stated that the Community Builder Award is the highest recognition that any of the 860-plus Masonic Lodges in the state of Texas can bestow on a non-member. Only one such award can be presented by each lodge per year.

Pierdolla, this year’s honoree, was recognized for her lifetime of service to the community, church, and various civic organizations which work for the betterment of the community. She has been an active member of the local Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce, Historical Association, and the La Vernia Parks Foundation, in addition to her lifelong membership and active participation in the various groups and life of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

As a life member of the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, she currently serves as an active member of that organization’s Ambassador Committee.

In addition to serving on the La Vernia City Council for six years, Pierdolla went on to follow that service by serving the city as its mayor from 2001-05. She also served as the Wilson County representative to the Alamo Area Council of Governments (AACOG) for 16 years.

The citation for the award states that it is the sincere belief of Brahan Lodge members that “Mrs. Pierdolla epitomizes the meaning of the term Community Builder and that she has played a large part in making this community a better place through her contributions and leadership.”

After the reading of the citation for the award, Brother John T. Terry, Worshipful Master of Brahan Lodge, presented Pierdolla with a framed certificate of recognition, the acrylic award engraved with her name and date of presentation, and a bouquet of roses on behalf of the membership of Brahan Lodge.

After a standing ovation, Pierdolla thanked the lodge and the visitors assembled and said that she has considered her service to the community to be her duty as a resident and an honor and privilege to be able to serve.

The purpose of the meeting having been completed, the attendees adjourned to the lodge dining room for a period of refreshment and fellowship.
