The 2014 Field Crops Program will be held Wednesday, June 25, from 8 a.m. until noon at the Texas Agricultural Education and Heritage Center located at 390 Cordova Road in Seguin.

The sorghum sugarcane aphid will be one of the topics of discussion at the Seguin program.

Three Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education credits -- one Integrated Pest Management and two General -- will be offered for private, commercial, and non-commercial applicators.

Registration will be from 8-8:30 a.m. with presentations to follow. Cost is $10 per person.

Topics and speakers will include:

•Sorghum Sugarcane Aphid, Dr. Raul Villanueva, AgriLife Extension entomologist from Weslaco

•Nutrient Management and Veris Mapping, Dr. Dennis Coker, AgriLife Extension program specialist from College Station

•Long-Range Weather Forecast, Joe Arellano, meteorologist, National Weather Service from New Braunfels.

•Farm Bill Update and Field Crops Market Update, Dr. Rob Hogan, AgriLife Extension economist, Uvalde.
