Bull Buck-Out kicks off Jubilee
A bronc rider gives it all he has to hold on during last year’s Stockdale Watermelon Jubilee rodeo.
The battle between bulls and broncs will come to life during the 70th annual Stockdale Watermelon Jubilee. The events will be held at the Stockdale City Park’s roping arena.
The LTR Jubilee Bull Buck-Out, set for June 19 at 7 p.m., is the first of three nights of bull-riding events. Tickets are $15 at the gate or online at www.ticketweb.com. The admission price also includes a concert by the “Junction 541 Band” from 9 p.m. until midnight. Children 10 and younger get in free all weekend.
The festivities for Friday, June 20, will begin with the crowning of Kaitlyn Morris as Miss Rodeo Stockdale 2014 and her court during the Lester Meier Rodeo Co. pre-show at 7 p.m., followed by the first installment of the Watermelon Jubilee Rodeo, including mutton bustin’ and a calf scramble.
The Watermelon Jubilee will conclude Saturday night, June 21, with the final installment of the Lester Meier Rodeo Co.
Presale tickets for the rodeo (including concert performances) are available for $20 per person from any Jubilee or Rodeo Court candidate, at Brahma Bullpen, or at Brahma Express. Tickets may also be purchased in advance from www.ticketweb.com. Gate admission will be $25.
