Members of the Stockdale Volunteer Fire Department direct traffic on S.H. 123 two miles north of Stockdale June 20, following a crash. According to Trooper Joey Lerma of the Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol, 81-year-old William Milner of Stockdale was traveling southbound on S.H. 123 near its intersection with C.R. 417 during a brief rainstorm just after 2:30 p.m.

Witnesses say his Chevrolet Lumina sedan crossed into oncoming traffic, where it struck the rear of a belly-dump trailer being towed by a semi-tractor driven by 55-year-old Alejandro Saldarriaga of San Antonio. Milner was flown via AirLife helicopter to University Hospital in San Antonio, where his condition was not immediately available.
