1938-2014

Sherian Audilet Salge, 76, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 14, 2014, in his home in Yorktown, Texas, after a valiant battle with cancer. He was born Feb. 14, 1938, to Alvin and Forrest Salge.

Sherian was the loving husband of Sherry Smith Salge, and was raised in Karnes City. He was an insurance executive with Cigna for 30 years, and then went on to build his own successful company, Salge & Associates. He shared his big appetite for life with all of his friends and family, and always kept them entertained with his stories, jokes, and music. He was an avid hunter and loved wildlife, nature, and Texas history. Sherian brought a passion to everything he did, and his memory will shine on for all those who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his beautiful wife, Sherry.

Sherian is survived by his daughter, Valentina Salge, sons Darrin Salge and wife Tracey and Chris Salge and wife Donna; grandchildren Forrest, Christian, Kenton, Payton, Kyle, and Lauren Salge; and brother Alvin Salge of Santa Barbara, Calif.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 18, from 5-7 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in Yorktown.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the First Presbyterian Church in Yorktown.
