Wallace Ray “Bud” Campbell passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, in Floresville, Texas, at the age of 85 years, 4 months, and 30 days. He was born on Jan. 18, 1929, in Sayra, Okla., to Ray Robert and Iva Leah Snow Campbell.

Bud was a former resident of San Antonio and Universal City, and a Floresville resident for 10 years. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, and Disabled American Veterans. He served in the U.S. Army as a sergeant first class in the Korean Conflict.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Jana Mae Odom and Ramona Marie Hoskins; and a brother, Paul Campbell.

Bud is survived by his wife, Shirley Hutchinson Campbell of Floresville; his daughter, Paula Sue of Long Beach, Miss.; son John Campbell of Dallas; his stepdaughter, Judith Braxton of Columbus, Ohio; nieces Liza and Sadie; his faithful dog companions, Liza and Sadie; four grandchildren; and a host of friends.

Visitation was held Thursday, June 19, at 10 a.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home in Floresville.

A funeral service was held Thursday at noon in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Yogi Gaertner officiating.
