1937-2014

Retired Chief Warrant Officer Gilbert W. Wright passed away Saturday, June 21, 2014, in Buda, Texas, at the age of 77. He was born April 18, 1937, in Murfreesboro, Ark., to William and Claudia Musgrove Wright.

Gilbert retired from the U.S. Army in 1979 after 25 years of service. He served as a rotary wing pilot instructor during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. He and Lilly Yosko married on May 16, 1981, in Runge.

Gilbert is survived by his wife, Lilly Yosko Wright of Buda; daughter Kelly Ruxer and husband Brett of Austin; and three grandchildren, Lily, Willow, and Phoenix Ruxer.

A rosary was held on Wednesday, June 25, at 7 p.m. in the Rhodes Funeral Home in Karnes City.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Panna Maria.

Interment followed with full military honors in the Panna Maria Cemetery in Panna Maria.
