Fifteen Floresville High School Air Force Junior ROTC cadets successfully completed the challenging Lonestar Leadership Academy Summer Leadership School at Schreiner University in Kerrville June 4-8. The leadership school is the largest in Air Force Junior ROTC, including more than 300 cadets and 30 instructors from 19 high schools from throughout the United States. The Falcon Challenge camp is the basic leadership school while the Eagle Horizon camp is an advanced school including cadets who have already completed the basic course.

Cadet Chandler Casey graduated from Eagle Horizon while cadet Jaydee Gonzales acted as a Cadet Training Officer for Falcon Challenge. Thirteen other FHS cadets graduated from Falcon Challenge. Notably, Cadet Enrique Montoya graduated as a Distinguished Graduate, ranking fifth from among 300 graduates. And, Cadet Angel Roberson graduated as the top FHS graduate. Izabella Conley won the sports medal for leading her flight to the overall championship. Morgan Sosenka and Aaron Gaudlitz also won the kickball sports challenge.

All 15 cadets will return to ROTC next fall in key leadership positions.
