H-E-B issues precautionary recall on market items

H-E-B, committed to ensuring the safety of its products, is issuing a precautionary recall of several beef market items in stores throughout Texas due to the possible presence of foreign material in the meat. No illnesses have been reported.

Retail vacuum-sealed packages with sell-by dates of July 4-5 of the following products are included in the recall:

•Hill Country Fare Beef Fajitas (UPC beginning with 220344 or 224234)

•H-E-B Seasoned Beef Fajitas (220736)

•Mi Comida Beef Skirt Steak For Fajitas -- bulk package (222322 or (222340)

•Texas BBQ Rub Style Beef Skirt (238715).

Other retail vacuum-sealed packages include:

•Beef for stew meat with sell-by date of June 24 (222835)

•H-E-B seasoned beef for Carne Guisada with sell-by date of June 27 (220595).

Retail packaged styrofoam tray products with packed-on dates of June 9-28:

•Stew meat RP (220595); or VP (220621)

•Beef for stew (221776); VP (222832); or tenderized (222836).

Customers who purchased the affected product can return the product to the store for a full refund.
