Cameron Scott Wiatrek, 15, of Adkins, Texas, passed away Friday, July 4, 2014, in Stockdale. Cameron was born to Scott Anthony and Michelle Lyn (Prophit) Wiatrek on April 29, 1999, in San Antonio.

Cameron was a super brother and son. He dreamed of being an Aggie and becoming an architectural engineer. He always looked a person in the eye and seldom told a lie. Cameron also loved to hunt, fish, and spend time with his brother, friends, and family. The Cibolo Creek at his Granpa Wiatrek’s in Kosciusko was his favorite place to be. Never a person he did not want to meet and never a time without a smile. Cameron so loved his dearest mother and brother and thought his dad was pretty great too. The family is certain Cameron was having fun and wants all of his friends and family to continue to have fun and smile and always lend a helping hand.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert Prophit.

Cameron is survived by his parents, Scott A. and Michelle Wiatrek of Adkins; brother Preston Anthony Wiatrek of Adkins; grandparents Kathryn Jasik of Elmendorf and Virgil and Lorene Wiatrek of Kosciusko; aunts Lisa Kotzur and husband Tony, Sheri Schneider and husband Darryl, Denise Koenning and husband Carl, and Monica Lyssy and husband Karl; uncles Kevin Prophit and wife Crystal and Jerry Jasik; numerous cousins; other family; and many friends.

Visitation was held on Monday, July 7, at 5 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. in the St. Ann Catholic Church in La Vernia.

A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the church.

Interment followed in the St. Ann Parish Cemetery in Kosciusko.

Memorial contributions may be made in Cameron’s name by way of Mass intentions.
