1922-2014

Teora Brietzke Ullrich passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at the age of 92 years while living with her niece and husband in Cherokee, Texas. She was born May 12, 1922, to Walter and Hulda Poenitz Brietzke.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Frank Ullrich; her parents; and her sisters, Vernese Halley, Evelyn Belz, and Dorothy Hamilton.

Teora is survived by her brother, Roger Brietzke and wife Janice Fay of La Vernia; her uncle, Nowald Poenitz and wife Susie of Arlington; nieces Jeralene Boggess of Cherokee and Shelley Holmes of San Antonio; nephews LeeRoy Halley of Lancaster, Calif., Lance Hamilton of Orange, Calif., Daryl Belz of Arlington, and Darren Brietzke of La Vernia; her husband’s nephew, Jerry Ullrich of Keene; a dear friend, Correne Belz of Grand Prairie; many great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews, whom she loved and could name personally; and many cousins in the San Antonio/La Vernia area and in the Arlington/Grand Prairie area.

Visitation was held on Monday, July 7, from 9-11 a.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia.

A funeral service was held on Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral chapel.

Interment was held in the Post Oak Cemetery in La Vernia, followed by a buffet lunch at the Roger Brietzke Ranch.
