A bull makes a grand entrance during the first-ever Roger Crouch Memorial Bull Riding event held last year in the Nixon-Smiley Livestock Show Arena.

The second annual Roger Crouch Memorial Bull Riding event will be held Saturday, July 19, at 7 p.m. in the Nixon-Smiley Livestock Show Arena, located off U.S. 87 west of Nixon. Proceeds will benefit the Roger Crouch Memorial Scholarship fund.

Jim West of Crazy J Rodeo Co. of Stockdale and Buster Garza of Vic’s Arena & Rodeo Co. of Marion will offer more than 40 bulls for the event.

Other events include Mutton Bustin’ for ages 3-7, with Lonestar belt buckles to the winners.

The coronation of the court will take place, with Megan Cisneros to be crowned as queen. Other candidates are: Princess -- Emma Lay and Olivia Colon; Junior Miss -- Emilie Janicek; Little Miss -- Sadie Jo Walden; and Little Mister -- Luis Acevedo.

“Hole in the Floor Band” is set to conclude the night’s activities.

Presale tickets are $10 each, $15 at the gate; kids under 10, free.
