Antoinette Martinez, 20, and Cameo Marcus Clines,19 have both been charged with capital murder for the death of Steven Rendon, 19.

Bexar County Sheriff’s Office deputies found Rendon’s body the morning of June 30, 2014 in a cornfield in the 11600 block of Old Corpus Christi Road and 181 South. The body had been decomposed and had to be identified by the Medical Examiner’s Office.

Martinez and Clines confessed to BCSO investigators on June 30 that they had lured Rendon to Martinez’s apartment for robbery, took his vehicle, drove him into South Bexar County, and shot and killed him. The BCSO has been conducting a criminal investigation to corroborate the facts of the case, and obtained an arrest warrant from a judge on Thursday, July 10 for Rendon’s murder.

Martinez and Clines were already incarcerated at the Bexar County Adult Detention Center after being arrested for the capital murder of Xavier Cordero, 20, which occurred on June 18, 2014 in Southeast Bexar County.

Martinez and Clines have just been magistrated, given the new, secondary capital murder charges, and given new, additional $1 million bonds each. They had previous $1 million bonds each for the murder of Cordero.
