P&Z tables rezoning
An error related to the official agenda for the July 9 meeting of the Floresville Planning and Zoning Commission has resulted in the rescheduling of a public hearing and subsequent action on the rezoning of 566 Fourth St. This is according to the commission’s chairman, Philip Vipond, following the meeting.
Cyndi Nichols of the city’s permits and code compliance office said the property is located at the northeast corner of Fourth Street and Sutherland Springs Road. The property owner plans to remove a group of existing manufactured homes and replace them with duplexes, Nichols said, which is why a request has been made to change the zoning classification from R-1 (single-family residential) to R-2 (multi-family residential).
During the meeting, the board:
•Voted to approve a 216-square-foot variance from the city’s 1,000-square-foot requirement for manufactured housing, so that a unit might be placed at 929 A St.
•Approved the replatting of 2.238 acres of the Walmart Supercenter property located at the corner of U.S. 181 and C.R. 130, which will allow the owner to reroute the existing public drainage easement to increase the lot’s developable area.
