Armin Elton Albert Sr.
Armin Elton Albert Sr. died on Monday, June 30, 2014. He was born on May 6, 1934, in Dewees, Texas, to Arnold E. and Alma (Nitsche) Albert. Armin is best known for Albert Distributing Company and his time at Ben E. Keith. He is still fondly recalled as the “Potato Chip Man.”
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Armin E. Albert Jr.; and a sister, Melba Albert Crisp.
Armin is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Lucille Kassner Albert; daughters Janet Wiatrek and husband Gilbert, Charlene Weeks and husband Tommy, and Deanna Valdez and husband Richard; sons Merland Albert and wife Bonnie and Elton Albert and wife Melissa; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation was held on Monday, July 7, from 6-9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. in the Colonial Funeral Home in Universal City.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home.
Interment followed in the Holy Cross Cemetery in San Antonio.
