Jubilee 2014 a success!
By Sherry D. Lambeck
It’s hard to believe that another Jubilee has come and gone already, but Jubilee 2014 is officially in the books, and it was definitely one to remember! We had another tremendously successful year and could not have done it without the help and support of all of our volunteers, sponsors, patrons, and guests.
Thank you to all of you that helped and supported our festival once again this year. We are so proud of our accomplishments this year and over the past few years. We have worked hard to make our festival into a prime attraction in South Texas during the third full weekend in June, and our hard work is paying off!
Additionally, thank you once again to the city of Stockdale, the Stockdale Volunteer Fire Department (VFD), and the Stockdale Emergency Medical Services (EMS) for their help and support as well. We truly enjoy working with the city, the VFD and EMS, and recognize that our successes are the result of great teamwork across all of these outstanding organizations.
As always, we will share the fruits of our labor with the city of Stockdale and its residents and businesses. This comes in the form of scholarships to youth at Stockdale High School, donations to local civic and school organizations, and improvements and maintenance to the facilities at the Stockdale City Park.
We are already looking forward to Jubilee 2015 and hope you are too!
The next regular monthly meeting of the Stockdale Chamber of Commerce will be held on Monday, July 28, at 7 p.m. in the offices of the Stockdale Economic Development Corp. Feel free to attend if you are interested in becoming more involved with any of our activities.
