Victor Quiroga, formerly of Southwest Securities, will continue serving the Poth Independent School District as its financial advisor. The district’s board of trustees, at its July 16 meeting, voted to end its relationship with Quiroga’s former company in favor of hiring Frost Capital Markets, Superintendent Scott Caloss said after the meeting.
Quiroga will assist the district as it prepares for a bond election proposed for November. The board, at an Aug. 6 special meeting, will discuss the next steps toward asking voters to approve what could be $15 million in new debt.
Also at the meeting, the board approved increasing student breakfast prices districtwide from $1 per meal to $1.25. The board also voted to hire Nilda Valverde as a Poth High School science teacher.
