The wait continues for the arraignment of 54-year-old Charles Hewitt of Pleasanton, who failed to appear in Wilson County District Court July 14. Hewitt, who remains the subject of an active arrest warrant, is charged with intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle for his alleged role in a fatal 2013 crash near Floresville.

According to court records, other defendants on the July 14 docket included:

•Courtney Alonzo, 22, charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon by threat, for allegedly threatening a man and subsequently cutting him with a knife on or about Jan. 5. Her case was dismissed at the request of the complaining witness.

•Samantha Cunningham, 25, of Seguin, charged with aggravated robbery, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and debit card abuse for her alleged role in an Oct. 3, 2013, incident at a home near the Guadalupe County line, for a pretrial hearing. She is set to return for a docket call Sept. 16, with jury selection ahead of her trial set for Sept. 29.

•Rosanna Hernandez, 38, of Pandora, whose case was reset to July 21. She is set for a hearing on the status of her shock probation arrangement, related to being convicted in February of intoxication assault with a vehicle causing serious bodily injury.

•Jeffrey Pratt, 49, of Floresville, charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and deadly conduct in a two-count indictment related to a May 7, 2013, incident that occurred in a home in Floresville, for his arraignment. He is set to return for a pretrial hearing Aug. 13, with a docket call set for Sept. 16, and jury selection ahead of his trial scheduled for Sept. 29.

•Steven Pruski, 43, charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for his alleged role in a March 11 incident outside the Circle B Gun Shop near La Vernia, for a pretrial hearing. He is set to return for a docket call July 23, with jury selection ahead of his trial set for Aug. 4.

•John David Ray, 26, of Stockdale, charged with deadly conduct following a March 18 road-rage incident on S.H. 97 East. On June 3, he received 1 year deferred adjudication probation after pleading no contest to one count of unlawful carrying of a weapon.

I thought that I read somewhere about housing the misplaced children from Honduras, somewhere in this area? Isn't there something we locals can do to help?
