Tracy L. Gonzales, a fourth-grade math teacher at Floresville South Elementary School, was honored as an SAISD Star Educator on May 22 at the University of the Incarnate Word’s Rosenberg Sky Room.

Tracy was recommended by Selena Portilla, the 2014 valedictorian of Travis Early College High School in the San Antonio Independent School District, who said, “Throughout the years, I have come across a number of stellar educators that have truly inspired me, but if I were given the task of naming only one, I would choose Ms. Gonzales, my eighth-grade algebra teacher from Davis Middle School. My true understanding and love of math can be attributed to her.”
