Sara Buccigrossi, a member of the County Line 4-H Club, was selected as one of six intermediate-aged youth to attend the Texas 4-H Roundup at Texas A&M in June. She entered the Recipe Rally contest and had to make an eight-minute video about a breakfast item.

Sara explained how to make Blueberry Waffled French Toast with a ginger smoothie and told about the nutritional content of the dish. She posted the video on YouTube and got friends and family to “like” her entry. The judges viewed the video and in combination with her votes, she was invited to give her presentation in College Station.

Although Sara was very nervous and thought she didn’t do very well, the judges awarded her first place! She was elated and very proud to represent Wilson County as the first person to enter the Recipe Rally and then win the state contest.

Congratulations, Sara!
