Wilson County grand jury hands down 52 indictments

Among the indictments issued July 16 by a Wilson County grand jury were:
•Ryan Gonzales, 25, charged with two counts of burglary of a building in connection with a Feb. 17 burglary at the Tetco convenience store and Ram gas station and an April 10 burglary at Lee Roy’s One Stop, both of which are located on U.S. 181 in Poth. His bond is set at $50,000.
•Jerry Lee Janysek, 49, charged with possession of less than 1 gram of methamphetamine, which officials say he possessed when he was arrested Feb. 12. The arrest stemmed from a charge of retaliation against the man he allegedly shot July 27, 2013. Janysek, who remains in the Wilson County Jail on $150,000 bond, is set to stand trial on all three charges Aug. 4.
•Richard Gonzales III, 29, charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and possession of more than 4 grams but less than 200 grams of methamphetamine in connection with an incident that occurred on or about Jan. 12, 2013. His bond is set at $10,000.
•Jeremiah Mark Zavala, 29, charged with possessing the components of an explosive, after officials say he possessed a Molotov cocktail that he allegedly attempted to use to set fire to a house on or about May 25.
•Doyle Wayne Gibbs, 40, charged with injury to the elderly for allegedly pushing an elderly man to the ground on or about April 13. In a separate indictment, Gibbs is charged with theft of property worth more than $1,500 but less than $20,000 for allegedly stealing a 2004 Ford pickup truck belonging to Falls City National Bank that same day. Bonds on both charges are listed as “continued.”
•Ruben Allen Marquis, 21, charged with injury to the elderly for an incident that occurred on or about April 13, in which he grabbed and twisted the hand of an elderly man. His bond is listed as “continued.”
•Richard Moehrig, 55, charged with assault on a public servant for allegedly striking Wilson County Sheriff’s Deputy C.J. Zoeller in the face as she was attempting to detain him on or about April 23.
•Chase Jon Sedmak, 26, charged with attempting to take a weapon from an officer for allegedly trying to disarm Wilson County Sheriff’s Cpl. Nathan Drzymala on or about April 27.
•Derek Smolka, 27, charged with one count each of evading on foot with a prior conviction and evading arrest or detention with a motor vehicle in connection with a May 4 incident involving Wilson County Sheriff’s Deputy Blake Brieden. Smolka’s bond is set at $10,000.
•Sebastian Busch, 21, charged with one count each of exploitation of the elderly, debit or credit card abuse, and fraudulent use or possession of identification information of an elderly person. He allegedly possessed the victim’s Walmart Discover card May 21, used her identity to transfer funds from her Falls City National Bank account on June 9, and ordered a duplicate Walmart credit card in her name on June 10. His bond is listed as “continued.”
