Brian Lee Quintanilla, 28, of Floresville has been indicted on one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon causing serious bodily injury to a family member. His indictment is one of 52 handed down July 16 by a Wilson County Grand Jury.
Quintanilla’s charge stems from an incident that occurred on or about April 1, in which Quintanilla allegedly caused his girlfriend to strike her head on a concrete floor. Police said at the time, Quintanilla alleged that the woman’s multiple injuries were caused by a slip and fall, but the investigation indicated otherwise.
The grand jury set Quintanilla’s bond at $50,000. If convicted, he faces up to life in prison.
Jury selection in Quintanilla’s trial is set for Oct. 27. His next court appearance is a pretrial hearing Sept. 22, with a docket call scheduled for Oct. 15. This also is the schedule for another case against Quintanilla, in which he is charged with theft of property worth more than $500 but less than $1,500 from the elderly, for allegedly stealing a diesel-tank trailer.
