Help Wanted

Immanuel Lutheran Church is now hiring for a Youth and Family Ministry Director. Pastoral: Minister to youth and their families during Sunday School and other church programs, being present in their lives outside the church walls, available for common concerns and in crisis situations. Leadership: Recruit and nurture Youth and Family Ministry program. Administration : Manage the planning process and coordinate with Pastor and Youth Committee all regular ministries to youth and their families. This includes youth of all ages on Sunday mornings and mid-week events; assisting with Confirmation, special events, trips and retreats, and parent meetings. Stewardship: Ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of youth programs, manage youth ministry budget, and collaborate with the sponsors of each Youth group. Ability to build, lead, and empower youth. Ability to implement a ministry vision. Familiarity with Lutheran Doctrine required; must be comfortable teaching it and representing Lutheran Theology. Proficient computer skills using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database, email, internet, and social media. Supervisory experience preferred. Ability to adapt and evaluate curriculum preferred. Must have excellent organization, communication (verbal and written), and listening skills, with a high degree of initiative and accountability. Exceptional interpersonal and relational skills required, with sensitivity to church members and visitors. Understanding and enjoyment of youth and families and guiding their spiritual development. 1918-2014

Rose (Foegelle) Wiatrek passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, in Kenedy, Texas, at the age of 95. She was born Aug. 28, 1918, in Panna Maria to Anton and Mary (Moczygemba) Foegelle.

Rose married Fred A. Wiatrek on Oct. 3, 1944, in Panna Maria. She was a member of the Altar Society, the Rosary Circle, and was an avid quilter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fred A. Wiatrek; son Virgil Wiatrek; brothers John, Severin, Isidore, and Adrian Foegelle; and her sister, Mary Urbanczyk.

Rose is survived by her sons, Elmer Wiatrek and wife Mary Jane of Gillett, Patrick Wiatrek and wife Leona of Cestohowa, Jeffrey Wiatrek and wife Lori of Cestohowa, Marvin Wiatrek and wife Sandra of Gillett, and Martin Wiatrek and wife Marge of New Braunfels; special niece, Gerry Foegelle Richardson of Seguin; sisters-in-law Rose Foegelle of Karnes City, Regina Foegelle of Panna Maria, and Irene Price of Fort Worth; brother-in-law Jack Urbanczyk of San Antonio; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Thursday, July 17, at 5 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. in the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Cestohowa.

A funeral Mass was held on Friday at 9 a.m. in the church.

Interment followed in the Cestohowa Cemetery in Cestohowa.

Serving as pallbearers were Tommy Wiatrek, Matthew Janysek, Timmy Wiatrek, Bradley Urbanczyk, Nicholas Wiatrek, Zachary Wiatrek, and Justin Wiatrek.
