The San Antonio Rose Society will meet on Monday, Aug. 11, at 7 p.m. in the San Antonio Garden Center at 3310 N. New Braunfels in San Antonio.

Jose Contreras, a certified FireWise instructor and Texas Master Gardener, will discuss how to design and plan your landscape to increase the odds of your home surviving a fire. With the amount of dried brush and other highly combustible vegetation, people have to be aware of the threat of wildfires due to drought conditions, high winds, dried flora, and careless people.

The public is welcome to attend.
