This weekend, the NASCAR Sprint Cup and Camping World Truck series head to Long Pond, Pa., to race at Pocono Raceway, while the Nationwide Series goes its own way for racing at Iowa Speedway in Newton. Both the Truck Series and Nationwide Series are scheduled to race on Saturday, with the Sprint Cup Series expected to close out the race weekend with a traditional Sunday afternoon race schedule.

Here’s a look at the combined weekend schedule for Pocono and Iowa (courtesy of NASCAR.com):

8 p.m. -- Nationwide Series race (ESPN)

WEATHER (courtesy of weather.com):

The weather forecast for Long Pond, Pa. (Pocono) looks rather wet, as there are 50 percent chances for rain both Friday and Sunday, possibly putting a damper on Sprint Cup qualifying, scheduled for Friday, and the race, scheduled for Sunday. The outlook is even more bleak for the Truck Series, with both qualifying and racing scheduled for Saturday. That day, there’s a 70 percent chance of rain. High temperatures are expected to range from the lower to mid-70s throughout the weekend, with low temperatures in the upper-50s expected.

Fortunately, though, for Newton (Iowa Speedway) and the Nationwide Series, the forecast looks better, precipitation-wise. There’s just a slim 10 percent chance of rain on Friday and 20 percent on Saturday. Otherwise, skies are expected to be sunny with high temperatures in the mid-80s and lows in the upper-50s to lower-60s expected.
