Josh Berry will make his NASCAR Nationwide Series debut on Saturday in the US Cellular 250 at Iowa Speedway in Newton. He'll drive the No. 5 Chevrolet for JR Motorsports and, as a result, he'll have teammates to lean on in the form of series frontrunners Regan Smith and Chase Elliott. Berry spotted for Smith during Nationwide Series practice at Iowa in May.

"I'm really looking forward to this weekend," Berry said. "Moving up to the Nationwide Series has always been my ultimate goal since I joined JR Motorsports. I'm very fortunate to have people like (team owners) Dale (Earnhardt) Jr., Kelly (Earnhardt-Miller) and L.W. Miller that are willing to give me an unbelievable opportunity like this, because deals like this are really hard to put together nowadays. It's, honestly, a dream come true. I feel like I've prepared myself as well as I can by working with the team and looking over past races and telemetry. Regan, Chase and Kevin Harvick have been a big help just to give me some ideas of what to expect when I get there."

Berry joined JR Motorsports in 2010 to compete in Late Models. He claimed the first track championship for JRM's Late Model program in 2012, winning a championship at the Motor Mile Speedway in Radford, Va. He's the current Late Model Stock points leader at Hickory (N.C.) Motor Speedway, already with five wins this season. He also also competed in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East for JR Motorsports this year, running races at Greenville-Pickens Speedway in Greenville, S.C., and at Richmond (Va.) International Raceway.

The No. 5 car is scheduled to run eight more races, counting Saturday's race at Iowa Speedway, but Iowa is the only track on Berry's Nationwide Series schedule. Kevin Harvick, who usually drives the No. 5, will be back in the car the next time it's on the track at Bristol (Ten.) Motor Speedway on Aug. 22. Harvick will also race the car at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Richmond, Chicagoland Speedway, Kansas Speedway and Texas Motor Speedway. Austin Theriault will pilot the No. 5 at Kentucky Speedway in September.
