Re: Salome’s Stars, July 30, Wilson County News

I am disappointed to see the addition of Salome’s Stars to your newspaper. The practice of monthly prognosticating is forbidden by the Bible in both the Old and New Testaments (Isa. 47:13; Gal. 5: 19-21). Astrology is a form of witchcraft and sorcery from ancient Babylon as old as the Tower of Babel. It is not harmless fun. It is not cool and sophisticated. It is forbidden. As strongly as God commands people to not engage in pagan practices, there are some who remain rebelliously determined to do so. They can find free online astrology services if they are so determined.

I am sorry the Wilson County News has accepted this column. Your paper has been an ensign for righteousness. Please reconsider. One more thing: the stars do not belong to Ms. Salome; they belong to the Lord (Deut. 10:14).

I find it curious that a verse concerning respect for authority (Caesar) appears in Romans. :-)

New Guy ... Respecting authority really puts a damper on revolutions. Long live America.

So New Guy to your way of thinking those who obeyed Hitler's orders to exterminate Jews were only following the bible? I mean Hitler was the authority there. Sleep well.

Publius: Romans 13:1 says nothing about legitimate authority, it is very clear about respecting those in authority.

New Guy respecting legitimate authority is proper. When Obama violates the oath he took to obey and protect the Constitution he deserves no respect. When the newspaper prints the truth why would you blast them? Bye the way, ... More ›

New Guy ... Does your pro choice stance extend to the developing human inside the womb. Whose choice are you advocating.

Nope, I am also pro-choice too. I am anti-government telling anyone what they can or can not do with their bodies. Once you go down that road the next thing is stoning people for their beliefs or sins.
