Help Wanted

Very part-time help needed to feed cats, chickens, and horses, Monday-Friday, 2 times per day, morning after dawn but before 9 a.m. for approx. 30-45 minutes and p.m. before dark (summer about 6-8 p.m., winter 4-5 p.m.) for approx. 60-90 minutes. Suitable for someone who lives near location, which is exactly halfway between New Berlin and La Vernia. No smoking and requires working in all weather conditions. Boys & Girls Club opens soccer, volleyball registration

FLORESVILLE -- The Boys & Girls Club of Wilson County is hosting a registration session Monday, Aug. 11, from 1-6 p.m. at the Floresville Event Center, located at 600 S.H. 97 W.

Soccer is open to children ages 3-18 (as of Sept. 1, 2014). The program fee is $55 for the local program, and $65 for those who play with the traveling teams. The home program soccer teams will practice in Floresville, and all games are at home. The traveling teams practice in Floresville, and will play half of their games at home, while the other half will be played in and around the San Antonio area.

Volleyball is open to children ages 8-16. The fee is $50. All games and practices will be held in Floresville at the event center gym.

Aug. 1 marked the start of the new membership year. In addition to team registration fees, a $10 Boys & Girls Club of Wilson County membership fee is due for each child. Scholarships are available for children who need financial assistance.
