It’s time for another exciting volleyball season. The Floresville Jaguars are in a new and tougher district this year, and the team is gearing up for the competition.

With two-a-days under way, the girls are working hard. The eight returners had a strong team during summer league play, and they faced some tough 6A teams and pulled out wins.

The eight returning varsity Jaguars are seniors Alexis Mandigo, Gabby Soria, Micheala Sifuentes, Sarina Thompson, Rebecca Jordan, and Vanessa Rodriguez; and juniors Kristyn Coldewey and Brianna Dugi. Coach Starla Jones knows this group is capable of a great season.

The Jaguars will host their first scrimmage this Friday, Aug. 8, beginning at 8 a.m. The Jaguar varsity, junior varsity, and freshman teams will all participate. The visiting teams include Holy Cross, Highlands, Marion, Bandera, and Southwest. On Saturday, Aug. 9, the teams will travel to Boerne for a scrimmage at 10 a.m.

Fans and community members should be ready to enjoy a great Jaguar volleyball season. Everyone is invited to attend the games, and to support the Jags, Coach Jones, and the entire Floresville volleyball staff.
