(Updated at 9:14 p.m.) Detective George Ortiz of the Floresville Police Department confirmed via telephone at 8:30 p.m. Aug. 14 that the suspected trigger man in an Aug. 3 armed robbery in Floresville has been captured.

Matthew Zapata, 18, of San Antonio was arrested at 5 p.m. by officers from the San Antonio Police Department. Ortiz said a worker at a San Antonio hospital saw news coverage and recognized Zapata as one of their patients, prompting them to notify police.

Zapata is being held in the Bexar County Jail, where he awaits extradition to Wilson County.
