Immanuel Lutheran Church is now hiring for a Youth and Family Ministry Director. Pastoral: Minister to youth and their families during Sunday School and other church programs, being present in their lives outside the church walls, available for common concerns and in crisis situations. Leadership: Recruit and nurture Youth and Family Ministry program. Administration : Manage the planning process and coordinate with Pastor and Youth Committee all regular ministries to youth and their families. This includes youth of all ages on Sunday mornings and mid-week events; assisting with Confirmation, special events, trips and retreats, and parent meetings. Stewardship: Ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of youth programs, manage youth ministry budget, and collaborate with the sponsors of each Youth group. Ability to build, lead, and empower youth. Ability to implement a ministry vision. Familiarity with Lutheran Doctrine required; must be comfortable teaching it and representing Lutheran Theology. Proficient computer skills using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database, email, internet, and social media. Supervisory experience preferred. Ability to adapt and evaluate curriculum preferred. Must have excellent organization, communication (verbal and written), and listening skills, with a high degree of initiative and accountability. Exceptional interpersonal and relational skills required, with sensitivity to church members and visitors. Understanding and enjoyment of youth and families and guiding their spiritual development. 1925-2014

Thomas R. Dziuk passed away on Friday, July 25, 2014, in Falls City, Texas, at the age of 89 years, 5 months, and 18 days. He was born on Feb. 7, 1925, in Falls City to Louis B. and Josephine Petrucha Dziuk. He was a lifelong resident of Falls City and a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; sons Tommy Dziuk Jr. and Jeffery Dziuk; and brothers Jerry, Rudy, Anton, and George Dziuk.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Wiatrek Dziuk of Falls City; children Emily Janke and husband Glen of Temple, Pam Maris and husband Wesley of Poth, Alvin Dziuk and wife Alice Andrews of San Antonio, Mark Dziuk and wife Anna of Poth, Nathan Dziuk of Falls City, and Russell Dziuk and wife Cheryl of Falls City; daughters-in-law Carolyn Dziuk of San Antonio and Joyce Dziuk of Kosciusko; sister Delores Kotara and husband Frank of Falls City; brother Louis P. Dziuk and wife Loretta of Falls City; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

Visitation was held on Sunday, July 27, at 5 p.m. with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. in the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Falls City.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday at 10 a.m. in the church, with the Rev. Gregory Szewczyk officiating.

Interment followed in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Cemetery in Poth.

Serving as pallbearers were Mark Dziuk Jr., Derrick Dziuk, Dennis Edwards, Kevin Edwards, Chance Dziuk, and Matthew Maris.
