1940-2014

John Robert Webb, 74, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014. He was born on July 22, 1940, in Leland, Miss., to Robert Melvin and Hazel Louise McDaniel Webb.

John graduated from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering in 1963. John excelled early in his career and owned a multi-city personnel and temporary agency in Texas. He married his sweetheart, Sandra Byers, and they enjoyed 11-1/2 years together.

John was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Patsy Lou Douglas; and nephew Kenneth Lee Lanford.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Byers Webb; his son, Donald Kelton Byers; one nephew, Leland Scott Lanford and wife Kellye; granddaughter Ashley Nicole Lehman and husband Dave; grandson David Byers and wife Ginger; four great-grandchildren, Emma, Josiah, Hanna, and Zachariah; three great-nieces, Amber, Whitney, and Casey; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Lance and Robin Hoppes; sister-in-law Brenda Holder; brother-in-law George Holder; and his beloved dog, Parker.

Visitation was held on Friday, Aug. 8, from 1-3 p.m. in the Mission Park Funeral Chapels South in San Antonio.

A graveside service followed in the Mission Burial Park South.
